I don’t know about you, but I have what seems like a million little pieces of paper ... to-do lists, things I need to get at the store, party invitations for my children, etc., etc.  These reminders tend to pile up on the counter top in the kitchen and I was really tired of the mess ... not to mention scrambling every time I had to find something!

I decided to make a corkboard that would serve as a home to all of these important reminders. I wanted to hang it on a wall in my kitchen, near the door heading out of the house ... and I wanted it to be attractive.

I went to an office supply store and bought a large corkboard with a simple wooden frame.  I discarded the frame and opted for a really nice heavy gold frame from a craft store. I popped the corkboard into the frame and mounted a hanger on the back.

Next, I wanted some really beautiful push pins, so I shopped online for a pretty set of fleur de lis. I hung my lovely new board and placed all of my important notes on it.  It is so large that I had some room to put some of my favorite pictures and some inspirational tear-sheets from magazines.

This project literally took less than 30 minutes ... and now my counters are free from clutter and I am finally organized!
