Start with a beautiful bowl that is low and wide ... it can be crystal or ceramic, whatever you have. I collect the beautiful green pottery made in Portugal and I thought the green would look really pretty with my wooden topped kitchen table.

I love citrus and I use so much of it in my cooking so I collected about 12 beautiful large lemons at the grocery store. I brought them home and removed the stickers and gave them a nice washing.

Next, I put a very small amount of olive oil in my hands and gave each lemon a rub down to make them extra shiny. Then I simply placed them in the green ceramic bowl and I have a fresh centerpiece that truly brightens up my whole room!

After a week or two, I’ll make fresh homemade lemonade for my family.  What a refreshing treat for a wonderful spring day!

Some other terrific options would be fresh artichokes ... their color and texture are so interesting.  Use fresh apples or an assortment of fruits and vegetables ... there truly is beauty in simplicity.
