Toddlers are not always verbally mature enough to communicate and get in on the family’s conversations and this can be frustrating for a little one. Allowing them to express themselves creatively with art supplies is a terrific outlet.

All kinds of art supplies are nice but there is just something really great about getting your hands in finger paints. Homemade finger paints could not be easier to make just mix 2 cups of flour with 2 cups of water, mix well and add food coloring to make various colors.

If you want the paint to be shiney, add a few drops of glycerin, sold at any drug store. Store the finger paint for up to 2 weeks in lidded plastic containers.

Next time you have a frustrated toddler or a rainy day, break out the flour barrel and stir up some fun!
